3D, augmented and virtual reality: what are the best tools to win your tenders?

article calls for tenders industry

Agri-food, energy, environment or logistics, what are the new technologies that allow you to make relevant presentations and thus win more easily your tenders in the industry?

The main problem during a competition or a call for tenders is to make your project clearly understood and to help your interlocutor to project himself. Today, new technologies such as augmented or virtual reality allow you to present a project in a clear and entertaining way.

Overview of technologies and their use in calls for tender

Many 3D-based technologies are now available and mature enough for your presentations, competitions and tenders. Here is a short overview:

3D construction machineThe 3D It is currently your best ally for your presentations. Whether in real time (in an application) or pre-calculated (films, perspectives), 3D is an excellent way to give a first overview of an industrial project. The interest lies in the possibility of making it interactive, animating it or adding content. If moving parts or flows are an integral part of your presentation, it is possible to animate them, and thus explain how they work.

It is becoming more and more widespread, driven not only by application publishers such as Artefactobut also by American giants such as Apple and Google via their mobile OS.  This solution allows you to interact with a 3D model of the project but also to add content. Explanatory sheets, video or 360°, it is now possible to offer a complete visualization tool on the move. No matter where you are, your project is available on your smartphone and tablet.
It is then possible to broadcast your demonstration live on a large screen in order to give a larger presentation, for example to a jury.

Virtual reality: virtual reality or VR is the best way to immerse and convince. The technology is now mature enough to offer a unique, stunning and unforgettable experience! It is the best device to make people understand the inside of your project, for example in the case of an infrastructure implementation. It is also possible to make the tool interactive.

Use case: the application of a Veolia treatment plant

An image is much more telling than any speech or argument. Bring it to life and you will leave a lasting impression!
A 3D, augmented reality or virtual reality application is an excellent way of explaining and memorising processes and the operation of technical equipment to a neophyte audience. To go further, you can also think of creating a scripted tour that will convince your audience.

Veolia Water has chosen to tohighlight its wastewater treatment plantoffer by presenting its project in 3D and augmented reality . The application, created by Artefacto, was presented at the tender presentation.
It offers an interactive 3D model that can be viewed from the air or from the ground. It is also possible to project the model in augmented reality thanks to a marker (visual support used to "hook" the 3D into reality).

Today, with ARkit for Apple and ARCore for Google the model can be projected directly into the space in front of you. The application does the rest!

Finally, there are four main benefits to this type of solution:

Mobility: indeed, applications have the undeniable advantage of mobility. Your 3D content is transportable via your tablet or smartphone. Presentations can be made regardless of the location.

The staging / graphic rendering: the possibility of creating real scripted visits will allow your interlocutors, including the most neophyte, to fully understand your project.

Adding additional data: integrate additional content into your industry proposal to provide an enhanced presentation. This can take the form of 360° views, information sheets, specific animations for example.

Immersion: 3D has this incredible capacity to bring an unbuilt project to life. In the case of a VR visualisation, for example, your interlocutor is immersed in the project at 360°, and can interact in the model.

Augmented reality or virtual reality, 3D remains for the moment the best way to help your interlocutors to project themselves in the project you wish to present to them. Each device offers different options. The nature of the project and the objectives of understanding will be the decisive elements to find the ideal tool.
