From 17 to 22 May, Artefacto will participate in Wanted Design, a prestigious design event in New York, as an " Augmented Reality Partner ", and will take the opportunity to promote URBASEEplatform for visualizing 3D models in augmented reality to designers and interior architects. On this occasion, students from 7 major design schools will use URBASEE during a workshop that will take place during the show.
Every year in May, NYCxDESIGN celebrates design in New York through events in all five boroughs of the city.
WantedDesign is one of these events, which will take place at Industry City in Brooklyn and on11th Avenue in Manhattan. It is an integral part of this Design Week and aims to showcase New York as the new trend capital of tomorrow. Founded in New York in 2011 by Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat, WantedDesign aims to welcome amateurs and professionals around exchanges and partnerships in order to nourish the dialogue around art and creation in New York and the rest of the world. The show brings together designers, manufacturers, buyers, distributors, artisans, students, design institutions and the press.
As part of this event, students from different international design schools come to participate in a collaborative workshop. The schools participating in the 2018 edition are: Art Center College of Design, Pratt Institute and Appalachian State University (USA), Centro de Mexico (Mexico), Strate School of Design (France), Strzemiński Academy of Art Łódź (Poland) and Aalto University (Finland).
This workshop promotes design schools, encourages the creation of an international network of young designers and establishes partnerships between schools and manufacturers.
This year's workshop theme is "Investigating the Modern Legacy". The teams will re-imagine and redefine the boundaries of design. It is in this context that Artefacto has given the students access to its URBASEE application, in order to allow them to integrate an additional dimension to the project. Design and Augmented Reality are going to mix!
